Cook on a coal BBQ or indoors on a grill pan to enjoy the char-grilled flavour of tuna with ginger and lime come rain or shine.

Ingredients:
4 x 170g fresh tuna steaks
1 tbs oil
1 tsp sesame oil
Salt and pepper for seasoning
2 tbsp sesame seeds
1 red onion
Fresh ginger, 1cm cube
1 lime
3 carrots
3 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 bunch of spring onions
1 handful of fresh coriander
Method:
Pat the tuna steak dry with kitchen roll, then drizzle with oil and season with salt, pepper and sesame seeds.
Finely sliced the red onion and ginger and place in a mixing bowl.
Squeeze the juice of a lime over the onions and ginger.
Chop the carrots as finely as possible and add to the bowl.
Add the soy sauce, then finish the salad with chopped spring onion and coriander.
Don’t mix the salad together until ready to serve.
Pre-heat your grill pan or BBQ, then place the tuna onto the hot grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side and then 2-3 minutes on the other.
One the tuna is cooked, rest for 2-3 minutes before serving with the salad. Finish the dish with sesame seeds sprinkled over the top.
